We endorse Solar Northeast as a cost-effective strategy to accelerate
the Northeast's transition to a renewable energy economy.
Solar energy is an unlimited and pollution-free resource that
reliably produces electricity where it is consumed. In Solar Northeast's
breakthrough financing model, solar energy is bundled with energy-efficiency
technologies and installed on public buildings. The energy efficiency
savings offset the cost of solar installation, thereby ensuring
a statewide increase in solar energy use at no cost to the taxpayer.
Solar Northeast is an attractive investment in that it will significantly
and positively impact energy security, the environment, and the
economy. The strategy will strengthen the solar energy market
while creating jobs and generating revenue.
In recognition of this, we hereby call upon the State Government
to invest in our future by implementing Solar Northeast.
